The BFF Date!
It's been really long Beth & I last spent one-on-one time together... Cos I'm always either busy at work or maximizing my quality time with the boyfriend. Yes, I just realized last night that boyfriend & I have only exactly one month left. Oh wells... I'm always feeling guilty about not spending enough time with my friends but I've no choice. Imagine if you've only one month left with your boyfriend and by the time he comes back for good, you both will be 24. Sigh, I really hope nothing much between us is gonna change. So, thank God I've got the most understanding best friend in the world who understands my plight. <3
The both of us are always satisfying our cravings together or checking out new restaurants/menu! Since we've got no cravings, my dear bestie suggested Japanese curry @ Coco Ichibanya, located at B3 of 313 @ Somerset.
BFF testing me on BTT while waiting... Hee.
Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry with additional top-up of cheese.
Living up to our catchphrase: 一人一半, 卡路里减一半
(Sharing divides the calories into half. Heh.)
Beth heard the review was good and yes, the curry was indeed tasty and sweet! You can choose the spicy level but since we chose the omelette, we can only have the non-spicy curry. The bill turned out to be $21 and we thought it's really over-priced for just a plate of rice. Moreover, I suspect the curry is made from those ready-pack and all you've to do is just to heat it up. If it's really the case, I don't think the $21 is worthwhile at all. Nevertheless, I thought it's still worth a try and perhaps, share it with someone too cos it might be quite gelat if you have it all by yourself.
After two hours of shopping, we got tired and time for a high-tea session at...
The Patisserie everyone has been raving about! @ Mandarin Gallery.
Macarons! From top-left (clockwise direction): Violette, Charlotte, Antoinette, Sesame.
It was my third time enjoying their macarons and I must say, their macarons are by far, the best I've ever had! I'm so in love with their amazing macarons! Our favourite would be Antoinette! I suppose it's their signature macaron that's why it was named after the Patisserie. It's a perfect combination of milk chocolate Earl grey tea ganache and raspberry jam :) Not to forget the other three macarons were amazing too!
We finally tried the highly raved crepes in Antoinette but honestly, we thought Max Brenner has better crepes than Antoinette! I think one of the few reasons why people love crepes is because they want to indulge in the perfect combination of smooth creamy cold ice-cream & a warm yummy-filling crepe, isn't it? To our disappointment, the crepe wasn't served warm. Oh wells.
Nevertheless, we've finally satisfied our sweet tooth!
Here's the silly cam-whores to end off this post...
Can't wait for the next BFF date already :)

Two days back, I had a sumptuous lunch with Shi Kai & Eugene at Din Tai Fung. 3 main dishes, 4 side dishes & 20 Xiao Long Baos just for the three of us! No pictures thou cos we're all too hungry. Oh yes, please do try out Din Tai Fung's Century Egg! I'm never a fan of century eggs (in fact, I always try to avoid it during home-cooked lunch) but this dish is really worth mentioning! Try it and you'll know why ;)
So, just when I thought: 'Since I had such a heavy lunch, I ought to have a light meal for dinner.'... Boyfriend wanted to introduce this Ramen restaurant to me which he thought it was pretty good and being the usual gluttony me, of course I agreed readily! Moreover, we've been eating unhealthy instant Kimchi Ramen for dinner lately. Time for the authentic healthier Ramen!
Located @ ION Level B2 (Opposite Fish&co)
Reasonably-priced Dinner Specials menu!
No wonder the boyfriend couldn't decide which Ramen for dinner, "Hmms..."
Boyfriend's so annoyingly-cute! Now you know why he always makes me laugh so heartily <3
Hamburger Miso Ramen - I ordered this solely because it has melted cheese on top of my hamburger.
YES, I AM A DIE HARD FAN OF CHEESE. *grins*
Shoyu Tontoro Ramen - We honestly preferred this soup base to Miso because the latter was a little too salty for our liking.
The side-dishes tasted better than I thought, they were really crispy & juicy! That top-up of $2.90 was really worthwhile.
Everyone has been raving about the Japanese ramen @ Ippudo, Mandarin Gallery. We've tried that before too and indeed, their ramen was really yummy! The prices were slightly steeper though, at least $19 for a bowl. So I thought Aoba Hokkaido Ramen restaurant would be a great alternative if you're looking for cheaper deals.
Here's a picture of a happy us with our happy stummies at the end of the day!
And before I end of this post, I've got something to share...
I PASSED MY BTT!!!!!!
I thought I was gonna fail it really badly since I only started studying at the very last minute. Completed the test within 15 minutes and miraculously scored 49/50, yay! Signed up for PDL and my FTT is less than 2 weeks' time, phew. By the way, if anyone has private instructors who teaches auto (near BBDC), please intro them to me! Thank you so much! Till then.

Happy Mother's Day
Last friday, my family had an early Mother's day celebration at Two Chefs Eating Place! Mommy was the one who suggested it because she's always so ever selfless & understanding. Mommy understands that Big bro has to fly over to Indonesia over the weekend to meet his future in-laws and she doesn't wanna split Glenn & I apart (cos she knows we spend every single day together so she doesn't wanna split us apart) on Sunday too. At the same time, she wants to celebrate the end of Second bro's Uni exams. How can we not love this lady? She 's so self-sacrificial.
Before dinner, we surprised her with a bouquet of roses followed by her new iPhone 4S.
Look at how happy she is! Makes me happy too :)
Glenn & I knew that we're gonna have a late dinner with my family and we totally stuffed ourselves that evening. Before dinner, we had home-cooked dinner prepared by his mom followed by our crispy waffle & bubble-tea... We totally regretted because my Dad ordered so much food, oh gosh. Nevertheless, most of the dishes were really yummy at very affordable & reasonable prices too!
Hor Fun - A must-order for healthier carbo intake.
As you can see, their serving is very generous with the beansprouts & fish!
Fried Yam Sticks - This old school dish has really surprised me! It was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, coated with yummy sweet sauce. Such a simple dish yet tasted really awesome!
Beancurd with Golden Mushrooms - Whoever said beancurd is such a plain dish is definitely proven wrong after eating this!
Butter pork ribs - The ribs were very tender and unlike other ribs, it's boneless! I think it's really well-seasoned and I love the powdered butter, it's a combination of sweetness & saltiness. Perfecto! My mom isn't a fan of this thou cos it was too sweet for her liking. If you've a sweet tooth like me, please try this!
Chilli Crabs - This dish is always the highlight of the dinner but definitely not that evening. The gravy tasted a little too sour-ish for our liking, perhaps due to too much tomatoes. What are Chilli crabs if they aren't even a least bit spicy? What a let-down.
Cereal prawns - It was good but it could have been made all better if we ordered the smaller prawns without the shell.
Life will be so much better for the boyfriend too...
So he wouldn't have to dirty his hands and peel prawns for me, heehee!
Thank you for peeling prawns for me every single time... Even without me asking or even when I told you I can do it by myself. You're the best :)
Seated between my two favourite men; No one loves me better than they do.
Big bro & his girlfriend!
My lovely parents.
Claypot fish-head - I didn't have a chance to try it because I was too full...
Tell me more if you've tried it before! ;)
Headed home around 10 to have the last surprise that Big Bro's girlfriend, Sabrina prepared for Mommy!
Mommy & I, together with Sabrina's lovely heart-shaped cake!
Together with her future-in-laws, teeheehee!
Love is in the air...
We definitely had a great family time together... Luvin' such precious family times (even more) especially when we're all getting busier with our work as we grow older. Hopefully Mommy enjoyed herself most since it was her special day! On a side note, I think everyone should treat their parents right every single day and not just on Mother's/Father's Day (which is pretty much of a marketing gimmick to me). I'm so glad I've got Mommy to come home to share about my day every single day. We can spend hours talking about our lives... Yes, she's just like my best friend. :) Till then!
I'm no angel, I'm just me
But I will love you endlessly.
